Initial Thoughts:

I bought this book the same time I bought Shatter Me. I thought since everyone was talking about the final book Winter I would give Cinder a try and hope it would live up to all the hype the series has gotten.

Review:

For the most part, it lived up to all the hype. I really, really enjoyed it! I love Disney retellings even though I haven't read that many but I do watch Once Upon A Time (fantastic show if you haven't seen it and like this series, I would HIGHLY recommend!) Somethings I quite enjoyed were: Cinder and how she was a freaking Cyborg! How cool of a retelling! Out of all the ideas and retellings, you could do Marissa Meyer choose to make classic Cinderella part robot! It's so unusual, I've never seen it done before which in of itself is a miracle because there are a lot of books out there. Another thing that was great (actually my favorite thing) is Iko. She was so freaking adorable!! All she wanted to do was get dressed up and dance with the prince at the ball. I really hope we end up seeing more of her. I guess the next thing to be addressed would be the things I didn't like. While I really loved almost everything about the novel. One thing about this book is when I finished it, I did really want the next one but, there wasn't anything super spectacular about the book to make it five stars. I didn't feel that I needed to give it five stars. I predicted all the big reveals but I'm still satisfied with the book. I can't wait for me to read the next book considering it's Little Red Riding Hood and I've never read a retelling of that. It should be quite interesting. I wonder if it will have aspects of Beauty and the Beast? Only on way to find out.
