Review:

Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry (Thunder Roads Series #2)

Format (That I Read It):

Book

Summary:

One moment of recklessness will change their worlds.

Smart. Responsible. That's seventeen-year-old Breanna's role in her large family, and heaven forbids she put a toe out of line. Until one night of shockingly un-Breanna-like behavior puts her into a vicious cyberbully's line of fire—and brings fellow senior Thomas "Razor" Turner into her life.

Razor lives for the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, and good girls like Breanna just don't belong. But when he learns she's being blackmailed over a compromising picture of the two of them—a picture that turns one unexpected and beautiful moment into ugliness—he knows it's time to step outside the rules.

And so they make a pact: he'll help her track down her blackmailer, and in return she'll help him seek answers to the mystery that's haunted him—one that not even his club brothers have been willing to discuss. But the more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. And suddenly they're both walking the edge of discovering who they really are, what they want, and where they're going from here.

Initial Thoughts:

I really enjoyed reading Katie McGarry's first novel in the Thunder Roads Series Nowhere But Here and so of course when the second book came out I was so excited and immediately jumped to get my own copy.

!Minor Spoilers!

Review:

★.5
It took me to read this book, not because it was boring or I wasn't interested but because I've been in such a massive reading slump lately that I can't seem to shake. Suddenly in the middle of this book the slump seemed to lift and I flew threw that last half. I become so invested in the characters and what was going to happen to them. I even think that I liked this one a little bit more than the first novel. They both revolve around family (big families) and that's one thing I love. The problems the characters have with their family was something very relatable. I liked the problems that this book brought up (cyberbullying, death, grief, suicide).  I think the subjects were handled very well. Katie McGarry is great at weaving her romances through these tragedies. She makes her family story just as important as her romances. That's why I love this book series so much. No matter how much the motorcycle club fights and argue they are still family. That even more prevalent in Walk The Edge with Breanna and her huge family. I also liked how the other stories are weaved through this book (the previous one and the next one). I can't wait to read the next book next year.
